[Review] Best Waffles in Singapore and C-shaped Perm at Silkcut Salon

If you know me, you would know that ice cream ranks as my all-time favourite dessert. On some days when I feel like something more substantial, I opt for ice cream with waffles. Till date, Assembly Coffee remains my favourite place in Singapore for a waffles and ice cream fix.

This time, I tried their Vanilla bean + Earl Grey Caramel sauce on waffle combination ($11.50). I found the Earl grey flavour to be subtle. However, the vanilla bean ice cream that came with it was delish. I loved the fluffy and light texture of the waffles too. This is still my favourite waffles in Singapore. Where would you recommend for waffles?

We also ordered their Ham & Cheese Croissant ($6.90). The croissant was rather generously filled with melty cheese and ham. Croissant could have been flakier though. This makes for a great snack if you’re feeling peckish and don’t want to over-order.

It’s been half a year since I permed my hair at Silkcut Salon. My hair was starting to grow a little too long and curls starting to loosen out. A much needed appointment at my favourite Silkcut Salon was in order. I wanted to perm my hair again but opted for a different look this time.

Upon Geri’s advice, I decided on C-shape curls that basically means curls at the ends of your hair. She also snipped off a few inches of my hair to make it one-length. I love this look as it makes my hair look fuller and youthful. I feel that it also softens my facial features.

The whole process lasted about 2.5 hours, including a pre-perming treatment. I will head back soon for another post-perm treatment. After perming, Moroccan oil was applied on my locks to give it extra shine and moisture (it smells wonderful too!)

Had a very good experience here at Silkcut again. Kudos to the Silkcut Salon team for taking good care of me as always – special shoutout to Geri and Pin for your professionalism and all your efforts!
