granola bake sale

4

Wow, it’s been two weeks since my first granola bake sale. Slots filled up quickly and I received very good feedback from customers. Phew! I’m thankful that everything went smoothly. I had a mass meet-up in town and it was really nice meeting some people for the first time! Yes, finally beyond the digital space that is Instagram.

I’ve always enjoyed the process (and outcome) of making my own granola, and I can’t remember the last time I bought a box off the shelves. In homemade granola, there’s none of that partially hydrogenated oil and additional sugars that can be found in storebought versions, and best of all, I get to choose what I want it to comprise of! Every spoonful packs a crunch. You can have it with yogurt, muesli, or on its own. Healthy and filling, it makes for a great snack!

My freshly baked homemade granola consists of:

Version 1: organic rolled oats, manuka honey, apple juice, cinnamon, almonds, cashews, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and French sea salt.

Version 2: organic rolled oats, manuka honey, apple juice, cinnamon, raisins, almonds, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and French sea salt.

The difference? One has raisins, and the other does not. Thinking of making one with coconut some time soon…
